Aberafans Places of Worship 1858

Home

In 1858 the Places of Worship And their Ministers were diverse Chapels were dominant throughout the area, the following is a small part of the list that were within the boundaries of Aberafan. Religion was an ever changing scene churches were to replace chapels due mainly to the efforts of the works owners wives who saw it as their task in life to convert the workers to their way of religion. In the last section I have included chapels and churches of Cwmafan to show how many there were in such a small area
